Description

As a Risk Manager, you will monitor physical and derivative exposures, validate mark-to-market valuations, and generate P&L reports and risk metrics. You’ll collaborate with traders and operators to ensure hedging aligns with strategy while maintaining an independent risk view. Your analytical rigor will directly impact trading decisions and Glencore’s risk posture

Responsibilities

  • Exposure Monitoring: Track and report physical/derivative exposures across commodities
  • Risk Metrics: Calculate and analyze VaR, P&L attribution, and stress testing results
  • Data Integrity: Validate pricing models and mark-to-market accuracy
  • Hedging Support: Ensure trades comply with risk limits and strategic objectives
  • Reporting: Deliver daily/weekly risk reports to traders and senior management
  • Process Improvement: Automate workflows using coding (Python, SQL, VBA) to enhance efficiency
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Bridge Middle Office, Trading, and IT teams with clear communication

Qualifications

  • Essential: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Economics, Finance, Quantitative Finance, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with coding (Python, R, SQL) is a plus
  • Ability to communicate complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Desirable: Knowledge of commodity markets (oil, metals, energy)
