Description

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for accurately processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with tax and labor laws, and maintaining payroll records. They handle wages, deductions, benefits, and tax filings while resolving payroll discrepancies and supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for employees accurately and on time
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings (IRS Form 941, W-2s, 1099s)
  • Stay updated on labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory deductions (Social Security, Medicare)
  • Handle year-end payroll reporting and distribute tax documents to employees

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR preferred
  • Payroll certifications (CPP – Certified Payroll Professional, FPC – Fundamental Payroll Certification) are a plus
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience (in-house or outsourced payroll)
  • Experience with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, UKG)
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws (if applicable)
