The FAIS Ombud is offering a 12-month Graduate Internship Programme designed to provide exposure and hands-on experience within a professional and target-driven environment. Successful candidates will gain practical skills through competency-based training and mentorship under experienced professionals. Graduates will be placed in the Client Department and work closely with a dedicated mentor to develop their expertise within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

• Register new complaints received from the public
• Assess whether complaints fall within jurisdiction in terms of the FAIS Act or the Financial Services Ombuds Scheme Act 37 of 2004 (FSOS)
• Assist and guide complainants on jurisdictional matters
• Extract and summarise the essence of complaints from provided information, requesting additional details where necessary
• Refer complaints outside FAIS or FSOS jurisdiction to relevant entities
• Liaise with complainants and financial service providers to facilitate complaint resolution
• Support the team in achieving targets while ensuring procedural fairness and efficiency

Qualifications

• South African citizen with a valid South African Identity Document
• Office Administration Diploma (NQF 6)
• Passion for public service and interest in the Financial Sector
• Strong academic background
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, learn quickly, and commit to extra hours when necessary
• Energetic, self-driven, and deadline-oriented
• Computer literacy is essential
