Description

Sanlam Life Ltd is seeking a Financial Data Analyst (PG 8) to source, analyze, and transform data across the business into reports and scorecards. The role involves sourcing, analyzing, and transforming data into actionable insights with demonstrable business impact. The individual will be responsible for end-to-end tasks within the data analysis framework, working with business representatives and product owners to define requirements, analyze data, and create reports and dashboards. Key performance areas include data preparation, analysis and visualization, sales-specific work, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires qualifications and experience, including a degree in Business Commerce/Accounting/Statistics/Data analytics, 2-4 years of experience, functional experience in data analytics, and business experience in financial services. The closing date for applications is 1st August 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire data from various data sources and combine & transform data into interpretable datasets, reports or dashboards
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques
  • Process, cleanse and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Interpret data, analyse results using analytical techniques and provide reports and dashboards
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Use data to answer key questions about the business
  • Own and maintain dashboards, provide ongoing reporting and handle ad hoc requests from the organization
  • Gathering and integrating data from multiple systems (such as MIS, Sanpay, and SAP), analyzing it to identify trends, and translating insights into actionable recommendations for finance and sales teams using visual storytelling techniques
  • Developing predictive models, questioning conclusions for deeper insight, and supporting business decisions through historical data analysis
  • Managing sales targets, adviser portfolios, and ensuring compliance with expense management procedures, including reviewing payment requests and monitoring monthly projections
  • Work directly with sales teams, management and other business specialists to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
  • Present information using data visualisation techniques
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse information needs, functional requirements and understand business processes

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Business Commerce/Accounting/Statistics/Data analytics
