Momentum Investments is seeking a highly skilled SQL Data Engineer to join their dynamic team on a 12-month contract. Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level SQL backend development
• Elicit, gather, and document business requirements from stakeholders
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS and AWS Glue
• Optimize database solutions through indexing, partitioning, and stored procedures
• Automate deployment pipelines with GitLab CI/CD
• Implement data governance and compliance protocols
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal clients
• Support Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Align personal development and performance goals with team and organizational objectives

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification (eg BSc IT or similar)
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SQL development experience (including data warehouse, data lake, or data vault development using SSIS and SQL Transact)
• 5+ years of experience in Python for data processing, automation, and ETL/ELT pipeline development
• Experience in the financial services industry is preferred
• Proficient in AWS, GitLab CI/CD, SSRS, SSIS, Power BI, and Visual Studio
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, data governance, and financial data structures
