Description

The Intermediate Test Analyst independently supports the team in executing comprehensive software testing activities across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes requirements analysis, test planning, test case design, test execution, defect tracking, and reporting. The analyst proactively identifies issues to ensure that functionality, performance, security, and usability standards are met. The role involves close collaboration with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to validate that technical specifications and user expectations are met. The Test Analyst plays a key role in driving quality assurance efforts and contributes to the timely delivery of robust, high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Review supporting documentation for accuracy
  • Identify system functions for testing
  • Extract and specify test requirements
  • Conduct risk analysis and identification
  • Specify test data requirements
  • Design test cases and integration test cases
  • Confirm test environment readiness
  • Sequence and schedule test cases
  • Execute test cases and log defects
  • Mentor less experienced testers
  • Transfer knowledge to clients and the team
  • Compile test plans and models
  • Implement test and defect management processes
  • Maintain testing matrices and defect logs
  • Liaise with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 3-Year IT degree or diploma – essential
  • Practical Software Testing – essential
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate – essential
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst – advantageous
  • ISTQB Agile Tester – advantageous
  • ITIL Foundation – advantageous
  • SAFe Practitioner – advantageous
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in the insurance industry – essential
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in the financial industry
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in broad testing methodologies
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in testing specification creation
  • Working knowledge of a test management tool (eg JIRA, HP ALM)
  • Working knowledge of a test automation tool (eg Selenium, GitLab) – advantageous
