Description

The Student Administration and Support Officer will provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of the unit responsible for student bursaries and academic monitoring. The role includes maintaining accurate records, processing bursary applications, coordinating with educational institutions, managing meetings, ensuring compliance with organizational procedures, and supporting statutory reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date student records and databases while ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Process bursary applications and track all required documentation
  • Assist in administering student budgets and processing reimbursements
  • Verify student documents and academic information for accuracy and completeness
  • Liaise with educational institutions regarding student accounts, academic performance, and results
  • Follow up on bursars’ academic progress and escalate concerns where necessary
  • Respond to and resolve student queries related to administrative or financial matters and escalate complex issues appropriately

Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate, at a minimum NQF 4
  • National Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF level 6) in Administration or Business Administration or Project Management or related field is required
  • At least 1 year experience in an administrative role
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
