Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical advisor and mentor within the organization, providing guidance on best practices and emerging technologies
  • Database Strategy: Develop and implement the database architecture strategy aligned with the company's digital transformation goals
  • Security and Compliance: Oversee database security and compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive the modernization of existing database systems, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and automation
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT project managers, software developers, and data analysts to deliver integrated solutions that meet business needs
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop, manage, and test disaster recovery plans, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
  • Capacity Planning: Conduct regular capacity planning to ensure that database resources are optimized for current and future needs
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, propose solutions, and provide regular updates on project status
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Utilize advanced monitoring tools to track database performance, identify issues proactively, and generate regular reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science
  • Software Engineering
  • Information Technology, or a related field
  • Certifications: AWS Certified Database Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar (Will be an advantage)
