Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Development, the role will be responsible for designing and implementing according to functional specification executable source code of high quality, maintainability and efficiency in alignment to the development standards of PPS.

Responsibilities

• Engage in technical scoping sessions to define and agree on technology, design, and tools
• Produce working implementation (code) based on functional/technical specifications
• Use tools and applications effectively to support the development process and SDLC
• Maintain relationships with business stakeholders, including business users, project managers, testers, and trainers
• Participate in performance management discussions with leadership
• Take initiative in career growth and training opportunities
• Perform software development and testing tasks
• Conduct database administration and create SQL statements
• Perform unit testing and integration testing
• Demonstrate best practices and adhere to project standards for coding

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate
• A degree/diploma in B
• Comm, B
• Eng, BSC Eng, BSC Informatics, or related fields
• Knowledge of web technologies like HTML, HTML5, XML, CSS, and NodeJS (advantageous)
• 3–5 years of experience with Java 7, JEE (Servlets, JSP, EJB, REST, SOAP, JPA/Hibernate), JBOSS, and MS SQL Server
• 3–5 years of experience with build tools such as Maven and ANT
• 2 years of experience with XML, LDAP, and design tools like XDE
