Signature Cosmetics and Fragrances is seeking motivated individuals for entry-level Shop Assistant positions. The role involves managing stock levels, addressing shrinkage issues, and ensuring the store meets operational standards. Shop Assistants are responsible for creating an inviting shopping experience, maintaining visual merchandising, motivating team members, and meeting sales targets. Candidates will also need to execute operational tasks efficiently and maintain accurate pricing and stock levels on the sales floor.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage stock levels, minimize losses, and handle shrinkage concerns
• Provide a welcoming and inspiring experience for customers
• Lead by example, offering guidance and supervision to team members
• Uphold store standards, policies, and operational procedures
• Maintain visual merchandising to enhance store appeal
• Foster team growth in customer service, product knowledge, and sales techniques
• Motivate the team to meet sales targets and boost turnover
• Adhere to point-of-sale and banking procedures and report to the Area Manager when needed
• Execute all operational tasks within the store efficiently
• Review stock take reports, investigating discrepancies and escalating stock shortages
• Ensure proper staffing levels to meet business needs
• Maintain accurate pricing on products and keep the sales floor organized and stocked

Qualifications

• Matric, Grade 12, or equivalent certificate
• Minimum two years of experience supervising a retail team
• Strong leadership and customer service orientation
• Passion for cosmetics, retail, and customer service
• Good communication skills and product demonstration abilities
• Knowledge of beauty and skincare products
• Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and basic Excel and email skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and work a flexible schedule
