The Financial Accountant will work closely with the FM to prepare various reports to internal and external stakeholders and ensure continuous improvement to the financial processes in line with best practices. Together with the FM, the goal is to build capacity in the finance department leveraging technology and cloud-based solutions to streamline processes for the operational teams and provide quality and timeous financial information to the leadership team to inform strategic decision making

Responsibilities

• The Financial Accountant is responsible for the preparation, development and analysis of financial information
• The accountant will maintain the accounting system in accordance with standard operating procedures and internal controls of the organisation
• The Financial Accountant will work closely with the FM to prepare various reports to internal and external stakeholders and ensure continuous improvement to the financial processes in line with best practices
• Together with the FM, the goal is to build capacity in the finance department leveraging technology and cloud-based solutions to streamline processes for the operational teams and provide quality and timeous financial information to the leadership team to inform strategic decision making

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent (minimum) SAIPA articles completed (advantageous) with minimum 1 - 2 years post article experience Minimum 3- 4 years post graduate experience (without SAIPA articles)
• Sound IFRS knowledge
• Professional writing and presentation skills
• Experience in fast growing organisations (advantageous)
• Experience in non-profit sector (advantageous)
