Description

The IT Assistant is a full-time, fixed-term position (ending 30 September 2025, renewable based on funding and organizational needs). Reporting to the IT Officer, the IT Assistant will provide service desk support as part of Jhpiego’s Global IT team. The role includes resolving technical issues, assisting with hardware/software installations, and ensuring compliance with IT policies. The ideal candidate must be service-oriented, organized, and capable of effectively communicating technical solutions to non-technical staff.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve service desk requests
  • Provide Tier 1 user support and escalate as needed
  • Install and manage end-user software and updates
  • Maintain hardware like computers, printers, and copiers
  • Provide training on desktop/application use
  • Maintain and enforce IT policies and guidelines
  • Manage IT equipment inventory and loaner equipment
  • Set up hardware and software systems
  • Ensure consistent system performance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • IT Diploma or related certification
  • MTA/GCP/AWS certification
  • 1–3 years of IT support experience
  • Familiarity with desktop/laptop hardware (major vendors)
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, Office 365, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Troubleshooting skills and technical problem-solving
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • (for hardware setup)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT
  • Experience in donor-funded organizations
