Description

We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join the Group Business team, reporting to the Group Actuarial Team Lead. The Group Business department writes sustainable group reinsurance business, which includes mortality, disability and critical illness benefits, across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities

• Utilizing experience rating and risk management techniques for larger schemes
• • Implementing data analytics, checking, and reporting
• • Monitoring profitability of group risk business
• • Upholding Munich Re's actuarial and risk management standards in pricing activities
• • Training clients on pricing tools
• • Liaising with internal stakeholders on pricing-related tasks
• • Calculating profit shares payable on certain portfolios
• • Measuring new business profitability of larger schemes
• • Enhancing business processes through automation
• • Assisting with ad hoc investigations and queries for the Life business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial, statistics or business science
• • At least 4 actuarial exams
• • One or more years of experience
• • Clear understanding of Excel and/or other data modeling software
• • Knowledge of employee benefits would be advantageous
• • Some life insurance product knowledge
