The Actuarial Analyst role at Momentum Health Solutions, a part of Momentum Metropolitan Holdings, is focused on using actuarial skills to support the company in areas such as provider profiling, network management, and commercial negotiations with healthcare providers. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the development and monitoring of provider networks in line with client medical schemes and specific risk profiles. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in creating value through insights, innovation, and a deep understanding of health solutions. The position is permanent, with some remote work flexibility, based in Centurion, Gauteng. Momentum Health Solutions strives for a culture of innovation and collaboration, ensuring sustainable, integrated health solutions for clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of provider network models, including profiling and monitoring network performance in line with client medical schemes’ risk profiles
• Execute provider models and performance reviews within agreed-upon service level agreements, while ensuring compliance with established guidelines
• Collaborate with the provider team to offer insights and recommendations for improving network strategies and pricing structures
• Monitor market trends and competitor design to keep the company competitive
• Build collaborative relationships across Momentum Health Solutions to enhance synergy and drive collective success
• Maintain detailed and accurate records for future reference, ensuring accessibility and accuracy
• Generate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) reports on the impact of discounted or negotiated provider rates
• Improve team efficiency through continuous enhancement of models and reports using VBA, data cubes, and data visualization tools
• Collaborate with product development and segment teams across the organization to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives
• Contribute to a culture of innovation by developing, sharing, and implementing new ideas
• Take ownership of career development, ensuring continuous learning and improvement in professional and industry knowledge
• Participate in and support change initiatives within the company
• Make recommendations for improving client service and the fair treatment of clients
• Effectively manage time to ensure productivity and achieve results

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Science (preferred) or a degree in Data Science
• Partial progress in actuarial exams
• 1-2 years corporate experience is valuable
• Proficiency in standard business tools such as Excel (preferred), SQL, and VBA
