We are seeking a highly motivated Quantity Surveyor Intern to support our construction and project management teams. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry. The intern will assist with cost estimation, budgeting, and project cost management, helping ensure that projects are completed within budget and according to specifications. You will work closely with experienced quantity surveyors and project managers on a range of projects, gaining valuable insight into construction economics.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
• Budgeting: Help in preparing and monitoring project budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently
• Tendering Process: Support the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities (BOQs) for contractors and suppliers
• Cost Control and Monitoring: Assist in tracking and managing project costs, identifying cost overruns, and suggesting corrective actions where necessary
• Valuation and Payment Claims: Assist in valuing completed work and processing interim and final payment claims for contractors
• Site Visits: Participate in site visits to monitor project progress, verify quantities of materials used, and ensure compliance with contractual terms

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Quantity Surveyor qualification or related field
