ClearScore is seeking a Backend Engineer to join its technology team, contributing to the development of critical services and tools. You'll be part of a new squad focused on building a ground-up platform for a leading product in the credit marketplace. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can create technologies from the ground up and take ownership of projects. You will work with a global microservices architecture written in Scala, using functional programming to build value for our users. This role also involves working on the transition to an event-driven architecture using Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and microservices architecture using Scala and functional programming
• Participate in the transition to event driven architecture, using Kafka
• Work with the Type level Stack, Kafka, AWS, Kubernetes, and other tools
• Collaborate with frontend developers, mobile developers, and product managers
• Follow TDD principles and release features in global services
• Contribute to peer review and quality assurance processes

Qualifications

• Experience with Scala, functional programming, and microservices
• Familiarity with tools such as Kafka, Cats, http4s, Circe, and Akka HTTP
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker
• Comfortable working in a cross functional team and contributing to frequent releases
