Description

The Backend Engineer will join the Retention Team at Scentbird, working to improve customer experience and lifetime value through hypothesis-driven improvements. The role involves developing features, collaborating with stakeholders, advocating for product quality, and ensuring code maintainability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and improvements for the Scentbird product
• Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders
• Maintain high-quality code and advocate for standards
• Address technical debt and propose solutions
• Diagnose and prevent performance issues
• Work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment

Qualifications

• Open to Non US applicants
• 7+ years of professional experience with Java
• Experience with GraphQL and SpringBoot
• 2+ years with PostgreSQL
• Cloud provider experience (AWS or similar)
• Familiarity with Grafana/NewRelic (or similar)
• SPA, Kubernetes, TDD, and performance optimization experience are a plus
• Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
• Strong organizational and self-management skills
• CI/CD experience
