Description

Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialised utility programs. Analyse user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customise software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyse and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team. May supervise computer programmers

Responsibilities

• Application Development Design and develop new and existing complex applications based on user needs
• Customize and improve applications to enhance operational efficiency
• Software Maintenance Monitor and fix complex software defects
• Ensure applications are running smoothly and securely
• Performance Testing Conduct testing for applications/websites
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues using call logs and monitoring tools
• Information Security Implement security protocols such as encryption and performance monitoring
• Collaborate with security experts to address vulnerabilities
• Continuous Learning & Development Participate in training, certification, and coaching
• Stay updated with industry best practices, new technologies, and trends
• Team & Organisational Development Coach and support team members
• Promote adherence to company policies and regulatory codes
• Contribute to the software development roadmap and ensure alignment with business priorities
• Customer Service Deliver quality service to clients
• Identify opportunities to support customer retention or gain new business

Qualifications

• Grade 12/ SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential); A recognised software development certification/degree/diploma (Essential)
