BD is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Analyst to support internal departments and the management team by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data to inform revenue planning, optimize processes, and develop effective business strategies. The role involves budgeting, forecasting, pricing strategy support, and using data analytics to identify trends, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Excel and analytics tools, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly. This position is based in Sandton, South Africa, and requires a collaborative, on-site presence for most of the week.

Responsibilities

• Collecting data from internal departments to develop and implement business strategies
• Identifying, validating, and utilizing new data sources
• Creating reports and presentations to summarize analytical findings and influence decision-making
• Collaborating with management to define project objectives, budgets, and timelines, and to monitor and evaluate performance
• Implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of company data throughout its lifecycle
• Continuously reviewing and improving analytics processes, methods, and tools for greater efficiency, accuracy, and security
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and pricing strategy development through data analysis
• Using insights to identify trends, reduce costs, improve efficiency, and drive strategic initiatives across the business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data
• Proficiency in MS Excel and analytics software/tools
• Ability to recognize patterns and trends in large data sets
• Skilled in using numerical information to develop business strategies
• Strong mathematics, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent presentation and research skills
• Ability to summarize and explain complex information to stakeholders
