The Data Analyst (DCA) role at Vodacom involves interpreting complex data sets to identify trends, providing statistical analysis, and delivering ongoing reports that enhance operational efficiencies for the leadership team. The analyst will support backend processes, automation, and exception reporting, while collaborating with business units to source, segment, and visualize data using tools like PowerBI and SQL. Responsibilities include developing predictive models to forecast collection portfolio risk and recoveries, improving data quality, and building automated dashboards and scorecards to track performance. The role also requires close stakeholder engagement, hosting performance meetings, resolving data-related queries, and recommending strategic improvements based on data insights. Located at Vodacom’s Midrand campus, this position demands strong analytical skills, advanced proficiency in SQL and dashboarding tools, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Assist internal business units with adhoc reporting, data sourcing, and insights using Aqua Data Studio and SQL Developer
• Segment data and create dashboards and visualizations in PowerBI to provide actionable insights
• Perform statistical analysis, develop quantitative and predictive models to forecast collection portfolio risk and recoveries
• Build and maintain data warehouses, automate reporting processes, and create exception reports
• Monitor and improve data quality by sourcing supplementary data and collaborating with MI teams
• Consolidate reports into standardized formats and design performance scorecards and ranking reports
• Host regular performance and operational meetings with DCAs and management to align strategies and campaigns
• Resolve data inconsistencies, escalate and manage queries related to file exchanges and reporting systems
• Analyze the impact of strategic changes on collections and receivables, providing recommendations for improvement
• Liaise between DCAs and Vodacom’s internal collections teams to address challenges and process failures

Qualifications

• Matric
• Bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics Qualification or other equivalent
• 4 years’ experience in Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Visualisation etc
• Telecommunications experience
