Description

The Item Coding Analyst is responsible for accurately and consistently coding new FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) products into the company's central product database (Dictionary). The role involves classifying products into the correct product groups based on characteristics such as brand, flavor, size, and packaging. This ensures data accuracy and consistency for use in analytics and client reporting. The analyst will collaborate closely with internal teams and grow to become a subject matter expert in specific product groups.

Responsibilities

• Assign new FMCG items to the correct product group
• Ensure accurate, objective, and consistent product coding
• Identify new trends and update coding rules accordingly
• Maintain and share daily progress updates in stand-up meetings
• Respond to internal and external queries related to product groups
• Collaborate with teams to ensure timely delivery of projects
• Continuously update documentation and coding processes
• Improve personal and team KPIs
• Liaise with stakeholders and support training or updates as required
• Ensure adherence to company policies and operational processes
• Stay informed about product performance and market trends
• Participate in training, knowledge sharing, and team events

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree (eg), _(BCom or BSc)
• Working knowledge of data models is advantageous
• Experience working with KPIs/targets
