Description

The Cyber Security Specialist is responsible for enforcing information security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data against external and internal threats. This includes coordinating with service providers, managing cybersecurity services, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, and supporting the overall cybersecurity strategy of the airline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and standards
  • Manage and review software, networks, and systems for vulnerabilities
  • Oversee service providers and enforce SLAs
  • Configure antivirus and protective systems
  • Handle incident response and audits
  • Maintain system performance reports and documentation
  • Train staff on secure system usage
  • Drive cost-saving and optimization initiatives
  • Lead and manage cyber-related projects and teams
  • Ensure systems comply with regulatory and governance standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT Security (NQF level 7) is Essential
  • Postgraduate qualification will be an advantage
  • Industry certifications (CISM, CISA, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, ISO27001 Lead Implementer)
  • ITIL certification will be an advantage
  • 3–5 years of IT Security Service Management
  • Cyber operations and security programme leadership experience
