Are you a motivated and number-focused individual ready to make a real impact? Join Sage as a Finance Operations Intern and gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and fast-paced Order-to-Cash (O2C) process. You'll receive training on Sage systems (Accpac, Evolution, CRMs), soft skills like planning, communication, and Excel, and contribute to a high-performing environment. Interns will rotate through various aspects of the O2C function, including order compliance, debit orders, credit control, receipting, reporting, and ad hoc project work. This 12-month internship will help develop your skills and prepare you for a successful career in finance.

Responsibilities

• Understand and investigate sales bookings
• Assist with audit sample testing and master data corrections
• Handle debit order incidents and queries
• Load and review debit orders
• Analyse accounts receivable ledger
• Call and email customers; respond to inbound queries and chats
• Perform debtor reconciliations, prepare journals and dunning letters
• Identify and review bad debt or credit notes
• Review and allocate unknown deposits
• Ensure accurate, timely cash allocation
• Investigate and resolve unallocated cash
• Assist with month-end reporting and KPIs
• Support audit requirements
• Help receipting cash from bank to ledger

Qualifications

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) Commerce qualification (Accounting or Economics preferred)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; accounting software experience is a plus
• Clear criminal record
• Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
