We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Retail Sales and Customer Service Associate. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring optimal merchandising and stock control standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the existing customer base
• Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting and guiding customers throughout their shopping experience
• Follow up on customer quotes and inquiries in a timely manner
• Achieve set sales and gross profit targets
• Promote products effectively to drive sales and meet promotional objectives
• Ensure correct placement and display of stock according to merchandising standards
• Receive and check incoming stock deliveries
• Report and follow up on damaged, depleted, or unsold stock
• Return stock not removed from the location in a timely manner
• Support the implementation of product promotions and ensure visibility
• Accurately complete required administrative tasks and sales reports
• Monitor and report on sales performance and stock movement
• Maintain store equipment and ensure it is in good working condition
• Support compliance with company policies, procedures, and merchandising standards
• Uphold and promote the company’s values and culture in all interactions and responsibilities

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a similar position
• 1 year’s shelf packing/merchandising experience
• Knowledge of general building material environment is essential
• Proven success in personal selling (achieving sales targets), customer service finding new business (customer) and converting it to actual sales
• Ability to manage and coordinate regular stock takes
• Interact with customers
