At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re building a future where cloud computing revolutionizes the way businesses operate, and we’re looking for a passionate Software Development Engineer to join our Kumo engineering team. You’ll work on designing, developing, and operating highly available and distributed systems at scale. You’ll be using technologies like Java, JavaScript, Python, Node, Angular, and AWS tools like Lambda and DynamoDB to help AWS customers make the most of their cloud investments.

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, efficient, and testable code in Java and other object-oriented languages
• Build distributed systems with microservices, containerization, and cloud architectures
• Collaborate with top engineers to solve complex challenges at scale
• Own and operate the systems you build, ensuring high availability and reliability
• Contribute to the planning, design, and testing phases as a Scrum team member
• Define system architecture, implement key components, and shape the user experience
• Uphold high standards for security, performance, and maintainability

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, testing, operations, etc)
• Experience building complex software systems successfully delivered to customers
• Strong experience contributing to the design and architecture of new and existing systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR 5+ years of experience in software development fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design)
