Tiko is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering adolescent girls and young women across Sub-Saharan Africa. Their mission is to help AGYW make informed sexual and reproductive choices. The company uses a technology platform to enable these girls to access health and well-being services in a sustainable, community-driven way. They’re now looking for a Data Engineer to help manage, analyze, and report on data, ensuring the overall quality, integrity, and availability across systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into technical solutions
• Ensure data is readily available from multiple sources
• Develop and maintain tools to analyze data and identify trends
• Create clear reports to assist teams in making decisions on risk, changes, and programs
• Take ownership of automated data QA testing practices across the team
• Work in an Agile environment with the team

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience working with complex data sets and tools
• Strong analytic skills, particularly in unstructured datasets
• Expertise in building processes for data transformation, structures, and metadata
• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases
• Proficiency with SQL and AWS
• Experience with Python, Terraform, and Airflow is beneficial
• Familiarity with technologies like Lambda, Flyway, SQL, dbt, pgTAP, PostgreSQL is essential
• Excellent English communication skills
