FirstRand is looking for a dedicated and skilled IT Internal Auditor to join their Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing audit assignments, evaluating IT controls, assessing governance and risk management practices, and recommending process improvements. The role will also include the use of data analytics to enhance audit quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Understand the IT control environment and its link to business processes and risk management
• Plan and design audit assignments based on key risks and application controls
• Incorporate data analytics into audit planning and execution
• Conduct fieldwork and assess internal controls and governance practices
• Evaluate areas such as information governance, security, operations, and disaster recovery
• Document audit evidence and express an opinion based on findings
• Identify root causes of issues and recommend process improvements
• Suggest enhancements to IT internal controls and project management processes

Qualifications

• BSc or BCom in Information Systems or an equivalent degree
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Application Control Reviews (ACR) and/or project auditing
• Experience with data analytics or CAATs is an advantage
• Experience in the banking and financial services industry is beneficial
