Description

Infrastructure engineers build and develop the blocks that move all of Shopify forward. It's building the infrastructure that powers the infrastructure for commerce [aka Shopify]. They handle absurdly high amounts of traffic [think: millions of requests per second] and deliver performant, resilient and seamless shopping experiences for everyone, everywhere.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable infrastructure that supports millions of transactions and handles peak loads during high-traffic events
Develop and optimize high-performance systems using tools like Kubernetes, Kafka, and Terraform
Ensure reliability and resilience in Shopify’s infrastructure to provide seamless shopping experiences globally
Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement solutions that enhance system efficiency
Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, ensuring uptime and performance across critical workloads
Automate processes to improve deployment, scaling, and system management
Contribute to the architecture and design of Shopify’s infrastructure, ensuring it remains adaptable and future-proof
Participate in on-call rotations to support infrastructure stability and incident resolution
