Description

To undergo training, perform work and undertake projects and tasks as a Learner Technician in relevant technical areas.

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of safe working procedures
• Know how to use hand tools and power tools
• Undertake fault findings
• Know how to install, operate and maintain motor/generators and allied control systems
• Develop a good understanding of lighting and illumination systems, control gear allied to such equipment, terminology, symbols, diagrams, types, connections and control gear
• Undertake electrical installation work
• Understand energy management principles
• Develop an understanding of programmable logical controllers (PLCs)
• Undertake training in basic welding
• Participate actively in practical field work, such as cable jointing, overhead line construction and substation construction
• Acquire the knowledge of battery chargers, battery banks and battery systems

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• 1 Year relevant experience
• Computer Literacy
