Description

The City of Cape Town is currently seeking a Professional Officer: Community Engagement to join its team. This role is pivotal in fostering effective communication and collaboration between the municipality and its diverse communities, ensuring that public participation is integral to the city's planning and service delivery processes

Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement Initiatives: Design and implement strategies to facilitate meaningful engagement with communities, particularly in areas undergoing development or change
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders, including community leaders, NGOs, and other government departments, to ensure cohesive and inclusive engagement efforts
  • Project Support: Provide communication and engagement support for various city projects, ensuring that community feedback is integrated into project planning and execution
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of engagement initiatives, making recommendations for improvements and ensuring that community voices are heard and considered

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 qualification

Application instructions:

  • All shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass the following compulsory fitness tests. The fitness testing component is an elimination process at each test, so applicants will be eliminated from participating in the remaining tests should they fail to meet the requirements of the preceding fitness test.
