The IS Audit Trainee Intern will assist in evaluating IT controls, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001, NIST). The intern will gain hands-on experience in IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity auditing under the guidance of senior auditors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting IT audits (access controls, system configurations, change management)
• Participate in risk assessments and control testing for IT processes
• Review compliance with policies (data privacy, cybersecurity frameworks)
• Document audit findings and prepare reports for review
• Support vulnerability assessments and penetration testing (if applicable)
• Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand workflows and controls
• Stay updated on emerging IT risks, regulations, and audit best practices

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Internal Auditing, or related field
• Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, databases, cloud systems)
• Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, COSO)
• Exposure to programming (Python, SQL) or data analytics tools (Power BI, ACL) is a plus
