Description

To support the technical team in maintaining Shoprite Group’s facilities and equipment. This includes conducting preventative maintenance, assisting in upgrades or replacements, and ensuring overall safety. Reports to the Technical Manager and plays a hands-on role with significant physical maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct plant inspections and report safety concerns
• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in maintenance areas
• Identify and escalate risks to the Technical Manager
• Drive to deliver/collect equipment and tow diesel bowser for generators
• Adhere to OHS Act and company policies
• Participate in safety programs and training
• Record defects, repairs, and materials used
• Handle ad-hoc duties as needed
• Be available for after-hours emergencies and standby shifts

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric (highly beneficial)
• OHS or technical maintenance certifications (advantageous)
• Minimum 1 year experience in property maintenance or similar
• Practical knowledge in: Electrical and mechanical maintenance
• Air conditioning, plumbing, and structural maintenance
• Work within shopping centres, office parks, or complex buildings
