As a Demography & Population Studies Intern in the HRM&D department, you will support the analysis of workforce demographics to inform strategic planning and policy development. This role involves studying population trends within the organization, such as age distribution, gender balance, retirement forecasts, and succession planning needs. You will contribute to the development of HR strategies that respond to changing workforce dynamics and help ensure equitable, inclusive, and future-ready human capital planning. The internship provides hands-on experience in demographic data analysis, reporting, and workforce modelling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze demographic data related to the organization’s workforce (age, gender, tenure, regional distribution)
• Support HRM&D in identifying trends and making recommendations for recruitment, retention, and succession planning
• Assist in preparing demographic reports, charts, and presentations for internal use
• Contribute to workforce projections and scenario planning based on population dynamics
• Help ensure that HR strategies are inclusive and aligned with demographic realities
• Collaborate with data and HR teams to improve the accuracy and utility of workforce databases
• Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards while handling sensitive information

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Demography, Population Studies, Sociology, Human Resource Management, or a related field
• Basic understanding of population theories, demographic analysis, and statistical tools
• Proficient in Excel; knowledge of SPSS, R, or GIS software is an added advantage
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
