Responsibilities

• Equipment Procurement: Assisting in selecting and sourcing electrical equipment
• Reliability and Capability: Supporting the achievement of Asset Mechanical Reliability (AMR) and Asset Capability (AC) objectives
• Strategy Development: Participating in creating and maintaining equipment strategies
• Preventative Measures: Assisting in developing and implementing preventative measures for structural conditions
• Technical Support: Providing technical expertise on reliability improvements, repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment design
• Collaboration: Liaising with the Engineering Manager and completing assigned tasks
• Technology Solutions: Assisting in developing and evaluating Most Effective Technology (MET) solutions
• Energy Management: Managing power sources (Eskom, generators, solar), acting as the Energy Champion, taking monthly energy readings, tracking power factor performance, and performing IR scans on electrical panels
• Maintenance and Restoration: Rehabilitating machine panels and switchgear, restoring UPS systems, and working on automation projects
• Spares Management: Capturing and maintaining a critical spares list for electrical equipment
• Project Work: Contributing to projects like material handling automation, refrigeration plant automation, and other electrical initiatives
• Sourcing: Procuring electrical equipment as per production needs

Qualifications

• BEng
• degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is essential
