Royal Voluntary Service (RVS), a leading UK charity with an 80-year legacy, is embarking on an exciting digital transformation and is hiring its first-ever tech team in South Africa. As a mid-level QA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing stable, scalable platforms that empower volunteers to deliver essential services in healthcare, homelessness, and food security. This role involves planning and executing tests, automating testing processes, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, including functional, integration, regression, and performance tests
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts for front-end, back-end, and API testing
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous and reliable testing
  • Collaborate with DevOps, developers, and product teams to manage defects and improve testing processes
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, maintain test environments, and contribute to QA best practices

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in software QA, including automated testing
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium or Cypress
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure Pipelines
  • Proficiency in a programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript) and version control (Git)
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and API testing tools (eg Postman)
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail
