Description

Accurate handling of all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and documentation, thereby ensuring Customer satisfaction. Ensure that no goods / stock pass through the Point of Sale (POS) without it being paid for.

Responsibilities

• Cash Handling Maintain accurate balancing of all cash, floats, and petty cash
• Accurately identify and capture goods on the POS terminal
• Process and capture the correct payment types from customers
• Ensure adequate change availability at all times
• Perform pickups and cash-ups accurately and within set parameters
• Safely deposit daily takings into the Drop Safe/vault
• Process transactions related to other stores’ money, deliveries, and quotes correctly
• Administration Sign, compile, and file all cashier-related documentation as required
• Ready for Business Comply with the company’s “Ready for Business” and “Beyond My Control” standards as per the CB Way
• Customer Service Provide fast, friendly, and efficient service to all customers
• Assist customers with check-ins and check-outs of goods
• Direct customers to the appropriate team members when required
• Adhere to the company’s dress code and maintain a professional appearance
• Safety (OHSA) Requirements Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) requirements
• Report any safety discrepancies to the Store Manager
• Security Awareness Adhere to system password controls at the till point
• Safeguard cash and transport it to the cash office per company protocols

Qualifications

• Essential Requirements Grade 12 or at least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in English and the dominant local language
• Basic calculation and numerical skills
• Strong administrative abilities
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Desired Attributes Customer-centric mindset with excellent service delivery
• Awareness of safety protocols and security standards
• Strong adherence to company policies and processes
