Description

The First Work Experience Pay Programme offers matriculants (from 2023 and 2024) work experience and training within Western Cape Government Departments. This 12-month programme begins on 1 April 2025 and ends on 31 March 2026. Participants will receive a monthly stipend to cover expenses.

Responsibilities

Perform administrative tasks within assigned departments
Learn and apply departmental procedures
Participate in workshops and training sessions to enhance skills
Develop competencies in communication, planning, and computer literacy
Assist teams with daily tasks and projects
Operate office equipment and software under supervision
Build knowledge of workplace practices
Network with colleagues and mentors to gain career insights
Adapt to professional environments
Improve time management and organizational abilities
Adhere to the programme guidelines and departmental policies
Complete all assigned tasks within deadlines

Qualifications

Must have written the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams in 2023 or 2024 in the Western Cape
Passed the final examinations (verified by the Western Cape Education Department)
South African citizen residing in the Western Cape
Between 17 and 24 years old
Not studying further in 2025
No prior work experience or post-matric studies
