Are you ready to be our dedicated “eyes on glass,” safeguarding our digital realm as a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Analyst? As a SOC Analyst, you’ll be on the frontlines, keeping a vigilant watch over BET Software’s systems, monitoring network activity, and ensuring no suspicious activities occur, all while updating and creating relevant documentation. You’ll ensure nothing slips through the cracks by analyzing security events, validating findings, escalating critical issues, and reporting events of interest using the provided guidelines and protocols. Your role will involve continuous monitoring, review, and proactive response to maintain a secure and resilient environment. This role is critical for maintaining a secure environment, so if you’re serious about shaping a safe digital landscape, we need you on the team!

Responsibilities

• Shift work 365 days, 7 days per week, 24 hours a day
• Monitoring and analysis of cyber security events
• Detecting potential threats and escalating security breaches
• Monitoring services like SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewall, Web Application Firewalls, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Databases
• Correlating security events and reporting to appropriate staff or sources
• Researching and staying updated on IT security trends
• Recognizing potential intrusion attempts and compromises
• Monitoring and updating security tools
• Researching security enhancements and making recommendations
• Handling escalations effectively and closing alerts at the end of shifts
• Investigating alerts and incidents, reporting trends and taking proactive action
• Using advanced analytic tools to identify emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities

Qualifications

• Minimum experience
• Entry Level
• Matric or equivalent certification required
• Minimum of one (1) year in a Security (SOC) role and three (3) years preferred in Support
• Experience and Knowledge with SIEM, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Security Event Correlation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with technical writing
• Possess an understanding of security standards and risk management
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Possess the ability to adjust and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
• Be able to multi-task and be pro-active in addressing issues and requests
• Possess technical acumen and the ability to understand and interpret technical specifications
• Security + beneficial but not required
