EThekwini Municipality invites qualifying South African citizens permanently residing in the eThekwini Municipal Area to apply for financial assistance through the eThekwini Municipal Student Relief Fund for the 2025 academic year. This funding is for full-time undergraduate studies at public higher education institutions only. It is primarily for registration fees, with possible contributions toward tuition fees. The funding does not cover accommodation, meals, books, sports, transportation, or other related expenses. Applicants are responsible for securing admission and acceptance at a public higher education institution. They are also encouraged to apply for financial assistance from other sources, as this funding is limited.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all required documents are submitted with the application
• Secure admission and acceptance into a public higher education institution
• Demonstrate academic performance and financial need as per the eligibility criteria
• Comply with any additional requirements from the Municipality

Qualifications

• Must be a South African citizen permanently residing in the eThekwini Municipal Area, Must be applying for or currently enrolled in their first undergraduate program at a public higher education institution, Must demonstrate financial need, with combined parent/guardian income not exceeding R160

• 000 if two or more students are in the household), Must possess a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification, Must have an acceptance letter from a public higher education institution, People with disabilities are encouraged to apply,
