Join the Plant/Mining Learnership Programme at Sishen Mine for a unique opportunity to gain theoretical and practical experience in plant or mining operations. This structured two-year program provides comprehensive training on plant/mining techniques and processes, introducing you to the operations of one of South Africa's key mining companies. The learnership aims to equip unemployed South African youth, especially from labour-sending areas in the Northern Cape, with essential skills to succeed in the mining industry. It focuses on safety, sustainability, inclusivity, and community development, aligning with Kumba Iron Ore’s commitment to fostering a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all health and safety regulations during training and practical assignments
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace
• Actively participate in SLAMs, HPHs, and Risk Assessments
• Attend theoretical and practical training sessions as part of the structured learning program
• Perform supervised tasks in plant/mining operations, such as machinery operation and equipment maintenance
• Support daily plant operations, monitor equipment, and troubleshoot minor issues
• Develop technical skills in plant/mining processes and production optimisation
• Collaborate with plant teams to achieve training and production goals
• Complete evaluations and assessments to demonstrate learning progress
• Maintain proper documentation of training progress and submit required reports

Qualifications

• Grade 12/ N3 Technical or equivalent
• South African Citizen with a valid ID Document
• Valid South African Driver’s Licence
• Proof of Residential Address
