Description

The role is responsible for managing risk in the ICT Governance team, by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk. This role will have broad accountability for IT governance, risk and compliance related functions including IT policies, standards, risk and financial management. This role is a key contributor to IT Strategy, which includes developing frameworks aligned to the appropriate industry standards, creating the required forums and establishing appropriate monitoring mechanisms to ensure that compliance is effective. Develop, implement and monitor reporting mechanisms for IT Governance, Risk Management, and Audit, to support compliance and highlight areas of exposure.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of the Information Technology Division Strategy and ensure strategies are implemented and integrated
• Recommends policies, processes, action plans and systems to support implementation of the strategy
• Analyse cost drivers and provide recommendations on profitability
• Ensure the management and control of the department’s budget
• Develop, implement and monitor the IT Risk Framework and integrate cyber risk into practices, processes, procedures and activities and maintain Risk Register
• Coordinate internal risk assessments in various domains and ensure vulnerability remediation and tracking (application access, active directory, security, network and vulnerability assessments)
• Conduct IT risk assessments, and analyses the effectiveness of control activities, and reports on them with actionable recommendations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or another related field at NQF level 7
• COBIT Certification
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• At least 3 - 5 years’ experience with IT GRC
• Experience working in cross functional teams
• Experience in performing audits and risk assessments
• Auditing experience as a compliance officer, information risk specialist, or information technology auditor
