Description

The primary purpose of this position is to protect and safeguard the personnel, facilities, and assets of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Head Office. This role requires Security Officials to perform duties such as access and egress control, patrolling, escorting, and reporting all security and emergency threats. Additionally, Security Officials will conduct drills, monitor security systems, and perform necessary administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct access and egress control in designated areas
• Perform guarding, patrolling, and escorting to ensure security
• Identify, respond to, and report on security and emergency situations
• Monitor and maintain security systems and equipment
• Perform evacuations and emergency drills
• Complete administrative tasks, including report-writing and updating occurrence logs
• Continuously improve knowledge of security practices

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent NQF 4 qualification
• PSIRA Grade C qualification
• Competency certificate in firearm handling (9 mm pistol, semi-automatic rifle, and shotgun)
• 2–5 years of experience in a security environment
• Strong understanding of legislation such as the National Key Points Act, Firearms Control Act, and Criminal Procedure Act
• Medical, psychological, and physical fitness suitable for the role
• Professionalism, discipline, and physical fitness to work long hours
• Availability to work shifts, including weekends, as required
