The Geographical Information System (GIS) Intern will work within the Directorate of Geographical Information System, assisting in the management, analysis, and interpretation of spatial data to support decision-making processes. Responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and updating GIS databases, generating maps, and providing spatial analysis for various projects. The role requires applying knowledge in geoinformatics, geomatics, cartography, or environmental science with a GIS specialization to address real-world problems, enhance data visualization, and support planning and development initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in using GIS software and tools, contributing to the effective delivery of geographical and environmental services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating, maintaining, and updating GIS databases
• Perform spatial data analysis to support decision-making processes
• Generate maps and visual representations of data using GIS software
• Collaborate on projects requiring geospatial data and analysis
• Ensure data accuracy and maintain metadata for GIS resources
• Support the implementation of GIS solutions for planning and development

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Geoinformatics, GIS, Geography, or related
