Description

During the Orientation year, Hospitality Management Trainees and Professional Cookery Trainees work in various hotel departments to gain practical insights into hotel operations and apply for the 3-year program. Orientation Trainees must follow company policies, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets. They must welcome guests, anticipate their needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation. They must speak professionally, answer phones appropriately, and maintain positive working relationships. They must also comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. They must read and visually verify information, move objects weighing less than or equal to 5kg without assistance, and perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Develops technical and creative cooking skills
  • • Assists in dish preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • • Learns kitchen operations like menu planning, inventory management, and cost control
  • • Collaborates with experienced chefs for professional culinary practices
  • • Takes on increasing responsibilities in fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • • Age range: 18-22, not older than 22
  • • Must hold a Matric certificate or equivalent
  • • Pass all 7 Matric subjects, preferably at 50% or higher
  • • Non-compliant candidates will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
