Description

The BI Report Developer role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. This includes data models, analytical reports, and dashboards. The candidate must be skilled in Power BI, data warehousing, and the Microsoft Stack, with a focus on transforming business needs into actionable data insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy BI solutions, including reports and dashboards
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Develop and maintain data analytics platforms (Power BI, SSAS)
• Transition legacy reports (eg ClickView/Excel) to Power BI
• Collaborate with IT teams for system integration and automation
• Conduct unit testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Provide user training and support for ad hoc reporting
• Engage with stakeholders to identify needs and ensure project alignment
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate with Data Owners and Stewards for timely project delivery
• Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and gather feedback for continuous improvement
• Contribute to budgeting and manage project expenses
• Ensure compliance with AGSA policies and internal processes
• Oversee supply chain processes within project scope
• Support team performance and participate in transformation initiatives
• Provide leadership in business unit culture and operational tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field
• Honours or Master’s degree is advantageous
• Relevant certifications (eg Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate) are desirable
• 8-10 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Specialist, with expertise in Microsoft Stack technologies (SQL, SSAS, Power BI)
• Proven experience in data warehousing, data lake concepts, and creating dashboards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, and data analytics
• Experience with OLAP cubes, data marts, and data modeling
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with data governance and stakeholder management
