Groupon is seeking a Cloud Platform Lead Engineer to lead the migration of our e-commerce platform from AWS to GCP. You will play a key role in optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, cost-effectiveness, and resilience. This position will also involve mentoring a team and driving cloud platform strategies in line with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of our e-commerce platform from AWS to GCP
• Define and implement cloud platform strategies aligned with business goals
• Provide architecture advisory, ensuring optimal performance and security on GCP
• Mentor engineers transitioning their AWS skills to GCP
• Implement best practices for cloud infrastructure, including microservice deployment on GCP
• Resolve complex technical issues and support the engineering team
• Optimize GCP infrastructure for cost-effectiveness and performance
• Advocate for the adoption of new GCP services and features

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with GCP services (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, BigQuery, etc)
• GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer, or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Proven experience leading cloud migration projects, especially from AWS to GCP
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (eg Python, Go, Java, Bash)
• Experience with infrastructure as code (eg Terraform)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
