Supreme Processing is seeking an experienced Millwright to join their team at the Germiston Further Processing Plant. The Millwright will ensure all support activities are conducted efficiently and effectively to allow the other operations to function properly. The ideal candidate will handle both electrical and mechanical responsibilities, including plumbing, ground maintenance, and equipment checks. This role will be vital to maintaining the overall efficiency of the plant's operations.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, ground maintenance, and vehicle inspections
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring, and lighting
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using appropriate testing devices
• Replace equipment, wiring, and fixtures as needed
• Maintain heating and air conditioning systems
• Use various test equipment to ensure the proper functioning of machinery
• Provide coaching and guidance to staff to enhance performance and efficiency
• Ensure the smooth flow of information within the company to support business operations
• Manage work schedules and meet deadlines
• Monitor inventory and plan material purchasing while adhering to budgetary constraints
• Organize and supervise the activities of the maintenance team
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and bio-security standards
• Oversee the quality of all maintenance work to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production
• Review job cards/inspections weekly and follow up on actions
• Maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations
• Be available for flexible hours, including weekends and standby for call-outs
• Address HR/IR matters as needed (eg leave planning, timesheets, disciplinary actions)

Qualifications

• Qualified Millwright with a Red Seal Certificate (a must)
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Millwright, preferably in a Poultry environment
• Familiarity with management principles and job card systems
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Team player with leadership qualities
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
