As a Technology Sales Engineer in IBM’s Data & AI brand, you will accelerate enterprise success by helping businesses better understand and leverage their data. This role involves selling innovative software solutions that empower various departments within an organization to derive actionable insights from data independently, without relying on IT. You will join a collaborative team of bright minds, with opportunities for ongoing learning and career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with clients to understand their business and technical requirements, proposing solutions that integrate IBM’s Data & AI portfolio
• Building and maintaining client relationships, offering strategic direction for their Information Architecture to support their business transformation
• Leading solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate business value
• Actively developing and progressing opportunities within the Data & AI and Cloud Pak for Data portfolio, especially in data governance
• Collaborating with internal IBM teams and business partners to deliver comprehensive solutions and ensure client satisfaction
• Addressing client technical escalations, troubleshooting issues, and providing support throughout the sales process
• Staying informed on industry trends and leveraging IBM’s latest tools and technologies to support client solutions
• Developing reusable industry-specific assets and demonstrations to enhance IBM’s value proposition
• Establishing deep technical relationships at client sites to foster long-term partnerships

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Information Architecture, Data Integration, ETL, and Data Warehousing
• Hands-on experience with IBM’s Hybrid Data Management Portfolio, including IBM Information Server, IBM Data Stage, IBM Data Quality, MDM, and Watson Knowledge Catalog
• Proficiency in enterprise-scale distributed solutions and databases like DB2, PostGreSQL, MongoDB, Cloudant, etc
• Knowledge of Big Data platforms and the Hadoop ecosystem, including Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR
• Experience with cloud-native solutions and appliances such as Netezza, IIAS, and IDAA
• Fluent English communication skills
• Strong consultative selling skills with an understanding of client needs and IBM’s technical capabilities
• Commercially minded with the ability to think strategically and support end-to-end sales engagements
• Self-starter with excellent networking and interpersonal skills in complex environments
