Description

The Technology/Domain Specialist I will actively own and participate in the overall evolution of the Technology or Domain asset, influencing and maintaining the health of the asset. This role involves providing guidance, conducting technology reviews, contributing to asset health, participating in code design, and working within governance and compliance frameworks. The specialist will also conduct research and development, troubleshoot issues, evaluate technology decisions, and coach others in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders in terms of expertise and experience
  • Guide and practice code design, analysis, and integration
  • Conduct technology reviews of code and design for quality assurance
  • Collaborate with domain architects and technical consultants
  • Conduct research and development experimentation regarding technology or domain applicability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Update the asset knowledge base
  • Mentor and coach others within the area of expertise

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • 5 years relevant technical qualification (Computer Science, IT) or certification (Programming/IT)
  • At least 10 years of on-the-job experience, requiring little to no supervision
  • Extensive experience with Mainframe and Server Platforms (Windows and Unix)/Hogan/COBOL
  • In-depth knowledge of SOAP Services/REST APIs and ZOS Connect/Java/Azure/DevOps
  • Cloud proficiency
  • Exposure to payment systems (eg Postilion/PowerCard)
  • Knowledge of Card (Issuing and Acquiring)
