Description

FNB Connect and Service Provider seeks a skilled Java Developer to analyze system requirements and develop applications that support solutions. The role involves continuous system development to enhance efficiencies, supporting developed systems through the software development life cycle (SDLC), and maintaining system availability. The developer will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide technical assistance to fellow developers while managing system risks and enhancing performance.

Responsibilities

• Increase operational efficiency and suggest cost-effective solutions
• Deliver exceptional service by resolving queries quickly and innovatively
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop program specifications and system enhancements
• Code, test, and implement applications following the SDLC
• Manage risks within the IT environment by adhering to policy and process requirements
• Monitor systems for performance issues and minimize downtime
• Mentor and assist fellow developers, ensuring adherence to coding standards

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Java Developer
• BSc in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology (Honours/BTech preferred)
• Strong understanding of technical systems development and business needs
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and time management
• Critical thinking and attention to detail
• Stakeholder management experience across various areas in the FirstRand Group
